I have taken the last month to refocus myself and get a better understanding of what Riri's Discoveries should be moving forward. In the online fitness industry there is SO MUCH out there. You can anything from daily fitness motivation, to #bodygoals fitness models, to full on doctors providing super in-depth information.
Trying to discern where I feel I belong in this space has required a lot of reflection and even a bit of research. What I have realized is that my various social media accounts ad this website were created to tell a story. If I am not telling that story then I am just another girl writing about her feelings and sharing her latest workouts.
I have always seen September as the beginning of the year. In north america (and in many other places) this is when the school year begins, so it makes sense that my brain, being that it is still so attached to my academic life, sees this as the start of a new year. With the beginning of a new year, comes new goals and ambitions.
Riri's Discoveries is my (Riley) business. It is the combination of my in-gym training that I do Free Form Fitness in Ottawa, Canada, the online programs that I will be offering through this website, and the community of individuals who are dedicated to doing something good for their body every day.
Part of my story is that I have used my fitness journey to help me cope with my anxiety and depression, two mental health conditions that I was told I had back in 2010. Sure, you will be able to find loads of other trainers out there who have gone through the same metal health issues, and even more serious stories, but Riri's Discoveries is a unique perspective on that.
