It would seem as though I have forgotten about this little side project of mine.
As if it was just some fleeting idea that fizzled out because it was never really that important.
Truth be told this is something I have wondered myself over the past few months. Asking myself things like does anyone really care? Is it ever going to be enough to impact people? Why do I even bother when there are so many others in the fitness space?
Self-doubt is seen as a flaw to many, and often-times spun as a way we hold ourselves to a higher standard. I want to believe that the latter is true.
For me RiRi's Discoveries is a place where I can actually be passionate and excited about things. It allows me to break the rules of not posting too many selfies, sharing too many food pictures, and filming myself as I walk down the street.
In my role as a social media director for Free Form Fitness I have had to do a lot of research and devote a ton of my time to try and create meaningful content for the business.
The more I learned, the more I wanted to apply this new knowledge of the social media space to my own project. Tracking page metrics, only posting when there will be the most engagement, worrying about engagement ratios, and worrying about the uniqueness of the content - most of all worrying about posting the best of the best content.
Turns out that's not the case for a page like RiRi's Discoveries. My health hasn't be the best. My skin hasn't been the best. My workout routine hasn't been the best. My food choices haven't been the best.
So what was I supposed to share?
I've decided that I would like to return back to what I want RiRi's Discoveries to be. A place where I don't have to worry about the rules. My metrics may not stack up against the best in the business but that's not the point. I know there are some of you out there who have been following this page from the beginning and have been following this long for a reason - it's always been about my journey and how I think it could help you.
So let's just keep this between us. As it was and as it should be from now.
